Get More Subscribers Now
Whether you are a blogger, newsletter writer, or even a business promoting your services or products, using a mass- e-mail service is a must. We create beautiful e-newsletters and e-marketing material, which is the first step! But how can you get (and keep) more subscribers? Check out our list below to build your list!
Make subscribing easy.
Don't make your site visitors jump through hoops to subscribe to your list. Make your process simple and prominent somehow. You don't need to collect a ton of information from subscribers, just an e-mail and name (so you can personalize your e-mails). Another popular method to gain subscribers is pop-ups or lightboxes. You can have prompted pop-ups with the scroll of a mouse, attempt to close the window, or after a certain amount of time that passes on the site (so that users can engage in the website before making the decision to subscribe immediately).
Test test test.
You should, over time, test locations of your sign-up. Does it get more interaction at the bottom, middle, or top of your website? Does having a pop-up or lightbox help or hinder? You can look at all of your subscriber information and analytics with your newsletter service (like Constant Contact or Wix). When you change things up on your website, you will also be increasing your search engine visibility at the same time!
Call-To-Actions (CTAs)
It's important to use CTAs for subscribing. This includes buttons with a sense of urgency or a deal (i.e. Subscribe Today! or Subscribe for Free). You should include Call-To-Actions after each blog entry, each page, and/or in your navigation. You can also advertise outside of your website, like on social media (your LinkedIn profile, Facebook, or Instagram).
Make it shareable.
If you create shareable content (with your subscription call-to-action included), then you'll increase your audience drastically. Write about something trendy, or a topic that will engage a large audience. Include videos or images to grab attention and increase the chances of sharing.
Give new subscriber incentives.
If you offer paid services or products, offering discounts or a free gift for subscribing is a great way to gain more subscribers. Think about offering free shipping, $10 off your first order for subscribing, or access to a free service for a limited time. If your goal is more subscribers and you don't offer paid services, be sure to mention the benefits of subscribing and that it's completely FREE.
Do your research.
Be sure to use your resources to determine your best traffic sources for subscribers and how to increase your reach. Try branching out to new social media you don't already use (for example, if you are already on Facebook, try YouTube or Pinterest). Explore forums or even become a guest blogger (or include guest bloggers on your own blog). There are a lot of opportunities for growth, so go try them out!
