Get More Likes on Your Facebook Page

If you're tired of asking your parents and significant other to "like" your posts to raise your visibility, ask no more! There are lots of ways to engage your social media audience that are free and effective.

Facebook's algorithm is a difficult one to understand, but following the tips below can help your posts been seen and--more importantly--be interacted with. Interaction leads to shares, which ultimately leads to new customers and new business.

Ask Questions

Asking questions in your posts not only helps you to learn more about your clients, but it encourages people to engage (liking, sharing, and commenting). Even a poll or yes/no answer will lead to more comments, which Facebook's algorithm takes as an important post to share with more users. Don't forget to follow up with answers to further engage your viewers.

Tricks of the trade

It's like a show of good faith to help your customers out, free of charge. By using how-to videos, infographics, e-books, or even just a blog post (much like this one!) help your business two-fold: your clients gain a bit of knowledge and want to come back for more, and they also understand you're an expert in your field and can be trusted.

Don't look like an ad

By posting an image with text, Facebook picks up on this as an advertisement and it will not reach as many users. Instead, use an engaging photo that captures user's attention. A photo that makes a user stop while scrolling through feed will encourage them to read on about your offer.

Leave out the URLs

Facebook also sees URLs as spam and they won't reach as many users. Instead, go to the URL you'd like to share, and look for a social media "share" button. This embeds the link into your post with an image.

Show your process

Showing who you are and that you're a real person gives a sense of trust to your customers. Helping them understand the process also makes them feel a part of it. Use videos, Facebook Live, and photos to help show off what you do.

Testimonials

What better way to show off your work than a testimonial and a photo of the completed job (if possible). Real people and real results encourage customers to try it themselves. By tagging that person in your post, you'll increase your viewers to all of their friends as well.

Celebrate those odd holidays

Did you know October 25 is International Artists Day? Or that World Emoji Day is July 17? How about Bathtub Party Day on December 5? Yes, really. There's a crazy holiday for every occasion that you can use to your advantage in your Facebook posts. Check out DaysOfTheYear.com to see what's out there!

Use social media tools

In addition to Facebook's tools like Facebook Live and scheduling posts, there are outside sources that can schedule your posts including Hootsuite and Buffer that will help you schedule and track performance of your posts.

These are just a few helpful tips to increase your likes on Facebook. Have more suggestions? Comment below!
